Durham D-Day Festival of Remembrance: A Tribute to Heroes
Durham's D-Day Festival of Remembrance saw an assembly of distinguished guests, honoring the bravery and sacrifice of those who served.
Among the dignitaries was the Deputy Provincial Grand Master of Durham, thanks to the invitation extended by Stuart Major.
Joining him were DL Michael Barton, the Durham Constabulary Chief Constable, and the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).
The event was both moving and poignant, especially as John reflected on his father’s role in the naval operations during his reading.
Attendees with a keen eye might have spotted Rev Jon Whalley, a military and masonic chaplain, standing discreetly between John and the microphone.
The festival served as a powerful reminder of the courage and dedication of the armed forces, past and present.
