To commemorate 50-years as a member of the Royal Arch, Paul was delighted to be awarded the Grand Superintendent’s Certificate for ‘Long and Exemplary Service’.

Exalted by his father, a Founder Member, into the Retreat Chapter (Middlesex) 7122, during the year decimal currency was introduced, Paul’s work took him throughout the south-west allowing Masonry to be enjoyed in a number of Provinces.

After settling in Dorset, Paul joined the Chapter of Unity 386 as well as the Kinson Chapter 5331, before becoming a member of the Dorset 1st Principals Chapter 3366.

Paul held active Provincial Chapter appointments as Sword Bearer and as Scribe Nehemiah and he was among the first Lodge Chapter Representatives to take office. With an enquiring mind and an interest in history, Paul became curator of the Dorset Provincial Museum and Library for a number of years.

Paul’s leisure pursuits have involved motorcycling (he once owned a luxury hand-made 1938 Brough Superior SS100, often referred to as the ‘Rolls-Royce of motorcycles’), course fishing and gliding. This year Paul and Brenda celebrate their 48th wedding anniversary.

On behalf of MEGS, Clive presented Paul with his certificate, together with a commemorative lapel pin, a personal gift from Graham.

During the ceremony, Andy, Bob and John were declared as Principals for the following year, and Pat, the Chapter Charity Steward, announced a very generous donation of £1000 towards the #Festival25 Provincial Charity Appeal.
