Happy 104th birthday to Brother Robert Wadlow

Happy 104th birthday to Brother Robert Wadlow, also known as the Alton Giant. Brother Wadlow was an active Illinois Freemason, although it is usually only mentioned in passing.


He was an active DeMolay as a boy. As an adult, he petitioned Franklin Lodge No. 25 in Alton, Illinois on June 10, 1939.


He was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on October 19, passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on October 31, and raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on November 4. He died on July 15, 1940 after a blister on his foot became infected.
