Did you know that a Masonic gathering was held in the Chamber of the United States Senate for the purpose of discussing a national Grand Lodge?

Shown here is a circular that contains the report of meeting held on March 9, 1822 among "members of Congress who belong to the Masonic Fraternity" as well as "visitors to the city who are or have been members of any state grand lodge... held in the Senate Chamber" to discuss the establishment of a national Grand Lodge.
