THE PRINCE HALL MASONS ARE AMERICA’S OLDEST CIVIL RIGHTS ORGANIZATION

THE PRINCE HALL MASONS ARE AMERICA’S OLDEST CIVIL RIGHTS ORGANIZATION.

In 1777, Prince Hall petitioned the Massachusetts legislature to end slavery and create schools for black children.

Prince Hall Masons were leaders in the Underground Railroad, Civil War, and Reconstruction.

Most to the great civil right lawyers, including Thurgood Marshall, were Prince Hall Masons. Yesterday, I joined Maryland Grand Master Emanuel Stanley, Maryland Scottish Rite Deputy Garnett Hall, Deputy Grand Master Noel Osborne, Grand Inspector General Jonathan Beverly, and other 33rd degree Masons in elevating 16 of our brothers to the 14th degree.
