David Staples (CEO) has decided to resign from his role as Chief Executive Officer for UGLE

Durham Freemasons are saddened by the announcement that David Staples (CEO) has decided to resign from his role as Chief Executive Officer for United Grand Lodge of England with effect from 14 April 2022.


David was at the helm of our organisation for some four and a half years, during which time his inspirational leadership and media presence have dramatically raised the public profile of our organisation.


We thank you, Sir, for your service and wish you every continued success in the future.
