Tonight I was installed as Worshipful Master of East Lansing Lodge # 480, as part of our first ever District # 35 joint Installation!!! After being installed I was also surprised with the Mason of the Year Award! I want to congratulate all of the District # 35 officers that were installed tonight, including the other 5 Worshipful Masters:

I was installed by Most Worshipful Bro. Bob Helmic, PGM, accompanied by his Installing Team, consisting of Worshipful Brothers Mike Beck (East Lansing Lodge # 480), Ryan Binkley (Grand Ledge Lodge # 179), and Chris Potts (Lansing Lodge # 33).

My good Brother Dewaun Hanna (Livonia United Lodge # 152/Windsor Lodge # 403) drove up from Canada to see me get installed. I'll never forget that Brother!

Tonight was a special day for me. Not only was I installed as WM, and received the Mason of the Year Award, but, not that it matters, I also became the first Worshipful Master of a Lansing-based Lodge who just happens to be black. That's 3 accomplishments in 1 night. It's a lot to take in.

2019 will be a good year for Masonry in Michigan!!!
