The Grand Lodge of the Canary Islands participates in the closing of the Grand Lodge of France Convent and the Assembly of ICGLU.

June 25, 2023 In an emotional ceremony where a delegation from the Grand Lodge of the Canary Islands once again participated, the deputies from the 937 Lodges confirmed Thierry Zaveroni as the President of the Grand Lodge of France on June 18, 2023, by a wide majority.

The ratification of the mandate of the Worshipful Grand Master Thierry Zaveroni took place with 90.3% of the votes cast.

The closing of the Convent, as usual, took place at the Pierre Brossolette Temple located on Rue Puteaux in Paris.

Continuing with the 13 commitments made since the beginning of his mandate, the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of France stated his intention to maintain the course on three fundamental pillars of his great mastery: governance, initiative, and openness, which are at the core of his development project for the Obedience.

On the following day, June 19, 2023, the Annual Assembly of the International Confederation of United Grand Lodges (ICGLU) took place at the Franklin Roosevelt Temple in the Paris headquarters of the Grand Lodge of France and also counted with the presence of a delegation from the Grand Lodge of the Canary Islands.

At the initiative of our obedience and with the support of other Spanish-speaking Grand Lodges (Grand Orient of Uruguay; General Grand Lodge of Spain; United Iberian Grand Lodge; Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Texas; Grand Lodge of Accepted and Free Masons of Paraguay; Scottish Grand Lodge of Colombia; Salvadoran Symbolic Grand Lodge; and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Grand Lodge of Ecuador), a proposal was approved in the ICGLU Assembly Resolution whereby the Grand Lodge of France will provide its heritage of knowledge on the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite and the principles of traditional and initiatory Freemasonry in Spanish.

To implement this resolution proposal, the Grand Lodge of the Canary Islands is already working on an ambitious project that, within its territorial scope, aims to redistribute open content with the goal of expanding the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite and the principles of initiatory and traditional Freemasonry among Spanish speakers.
